The work of missions is never done alone. We are not superhumans, yet sometimes we forget how much we need God—and how much we need our brothers and sisters in Christ. As our work grows, we are stretched in new ways, and we must learn to lean on Him.
In the past few months, we’ve witnessed how God has opened doors for key partnerships aligned with our ministry goals. We had been praying for these partnerships but lacked the faith to take the first step—until our growth compelled us to step out in faith.
Partnering a Local Church

We’ve been praying for a long-term partnership with a local church in our neighborhood, and over the past few months, God has been opening doors in incredible ways. Victory Church, a Thai church just 10 minutes from BDR, recently hired a new staff member with a heart to reach the local Shan community and pioneer a Shan-speaking church. As we connected with them, we discovered a strong alignment in both vision and heart. Since then, Victory Church has been actively sending staff to volunteer at BDR, building friendships with our community and even bringing some of them to church!
Partnering with Christian grant-givers

With 340 children under the care of our partner’s school, boarding home, and church—but no stable source of funding—we knew we had to trust God for His provision. After months of waiting and multiple attempts, God opened the door through a grant organization whose vision beautifully aligns with ours. By His grace, we’ve secured one year of funding to keep the school, boarding home, and church running.
At the same time, we’re praying about sending mission teams to Mae Sot to support the local church and minister to the refugee community. We sense God’s call to reach the forgotten and the most vulnerable—and we hope to invite the Singaporean church to be part of this important work.
Mission Team from SKMC

We had the joy of hosting a mission team from Sengkang Methodist Church. They came and served alongside us in our home visits, kids programs, and also spent time blessing our team. We had a blast with them!
Discipleship Training School (DTS)

Prae and Tawan, two of our ministry staff, have finally started their DTS in Trang, Thailand. This is a 7-month school where they will deepen their relationship with God and gain hands-on experience in missions and Gospel work. They have managed to raise most of the funds needed, and we are so excited to see how God is providing and leading them as they step into this new season.
Sheryl’s Injury and Recovery
In early June, Sheryl was in a Grab car accident and sustained a concussion and neck injury. Upon hospitalisation, she was diagnosed with Post-Concussion Syndrome and has been struggling with its symptoms. The headaches, nausea, and neck pain completely took away her capacity to work, forcing her to rest at home for a month.
Today, she is finally back at work full-time, working hard to catch up on the backlog of tasks. It was a season of slowing down and learning how to adjust to the new circumstances, and we are thankful for the care of family, friends, and our team.

Ministry Impact Update
You play a vital role in the work we do. Your partnership is likely much bigger than you realize—because this is spiritual work, fueled by the prayers of the saints and the resources of the body of Christ. Here’s what we have accomplished together in the first six months of 2025:
- 50 children in our BDR Kids Cell Group, with over 30% coming to Christ.
- 20 youths in our BDR Youth Cell Group, with over 50% coming to Christ.
- 10 adults in our BDR Adults Cell Group, all of whom have come to Christ.
- 340 refugee children being raised, fed, and educated through our Mae Sot ministry.
- 10 local staff trained and discipled to serve the local community and engage in missions work.
- 4 youths hired to assist in our handmade flowers business project.
Pray for us
- We are seeking God about BDR’s next season. Pray for clarity and courage as we chart the way forward.
- We ask for God’s blessings and favour on the partnerships that we have, so that many more will come to know Christ.
- It’s gonna be a busy end-of-year ahead! With 3 mission teams and 2 big events, pray for strength and rhythm!
